Hertfordshire Futures is leading a strategic approach to this rapid growth, through a sector action plan and industry panel, to capitalise on the area’s long history of Film and TV Production and major streamers – such as Apple, Amazon and Netflix –investing substantially to secure additional production capacity in the UK; as well as Hertfordshire’s proximity to Heathrow Airport and central London. The plan aims to overcome challenges and embrace the opportunities to position Hertfordshire as a global leader in film and TV and promote the county as a screen destination location. Hertfordshire Film Office (HFO) was established in response to this rapid and large-scale growth, to maximise the potential of the sector and provide a dedicated gateway for productions looking to film within the county.
